Family News:

  1. 2025 Theme: "Abide in Christ, Renewal in life."
    Theme verse: "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." (John 15:5, NIV)
  2. After Cantonese and English Services, there will be a joint prayer meeting at 12:15 p.m. in the sanctuary to pray for our missionaries. All are welcome to attend, making Bethel a prayer driven church.
  3. Due to the first aid course being held in the church basement today in the afternoon, we kindly request all departments and ministry teams not to schedule any activities in the basement.
  4. This year’s Church Picnic will be held on Aug. 24 (Sunday) in the afternoon at Burnaby Fraser Foreshore Park (7751 Fraser Park Dr., Burnaby). Fees are: Adult - $15; Children (4-12) - $7; Under 4 – Free. Registration starts today. Please register and pay in the basement.
  5. EM Summer Retreat will be held next weekend (August 8-10). Next Sunday's (Aug 10) English worship service will take place @ 10:30 a.m. at the camp site and will also be broadcast live online through Zoom. The Zoom link will be posted Saturday night (Aug 9) on our church website. The service will be recorded and available on our website Sunday evening.
    Brothers and sisters who will be going to the retreat, please pick up a copy of the packing list today.
  6. There are still a few vacancies available for the Summer Kids' Day Camp from August 11 to 22. For inquiries and registration, please contact Pr. Grace.
  7. Chinese School is now recruiting new students. All those aged 4 and above are welcome to register. For inquiries and registration, please contact Pr. Grace.
  8. Starting from Sep 8 (Monday), Alpha courses (Cantonese) will be held every Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Congregants are welcome to invite non-believers to participate. Registration can be made at the office.
  9. A new CM Sunday school session will begin at 12:15 p.m. on Sep 14. Mrs. Woo will teach Genesis (Part 2). All members are welcome to register at the office.
  10. Obituary: Pr. Peter's mother fainted at home on the morning of July 24 (Thursday) and passed away in the arms of the Lord. Funeral will be held at Forest Lawn on Aug 12 (Tue) at 10 a.m. May the Lord comfort Pr. Peter and his family.
  11. The 63rd Canada Chinese Christian Winter Conference will be held on Dec 27-31. Registration is now open, if you are interested, you can contact Angela Chan.
  12. Deacons Board received Administrative Assistant (AA) Julie Su's resignation last Thursday (July 10) and has accepted her resignation. Julie's resignation is effective on August 1, immediately after her sick leave. We thank Julie for her service at Bethel in the past 5 years. Deacons Board will now review the AA position, and will later begin the hiring process.
  13. August 4th (Monday) is BC Day public holiday, the office will be closed.
  14. Pr. Tommy will take leave from Aug 6 to 21.

  10. 訃告：本堂會友張曾玉桃姊妹(張傳道母親)於7月24日(四)上午在家暈倒，安息主懷。安息禮拜將於8月12日(二)早上10時於科士蘭墓園舉行，願主安慰張傳道及家人。
  11. 第六十三屆加拿大華人基督徒冬令會將於12月27至31日舉行，現正接受報名，有意參加者可聯絡EM陳安琪。
  12. 執事會於星期四(7月10日)收到行政助理Julie Su蘇梁秀萍姊妹的辭職電郵, 並已接納她的辭職，她的離職日期為8月1日病假完後即時生效。教會感謝Julie姊妹過去5年為教會工作服務。執事會現將檢討行政助理的工作範圍，稍後會展開聘請程序。
  13. 8月4日(一)為卑斯日公眾假期，辦公室將休假一天。
