Manna Fellowship will be holding a yard sale outside church on Sunday July 20, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Please come along with friends and family to take a look and shop around! All proceeds will go directly to the EM Summer Retreat happening August 8-10!
CM Prayer Meeting will be held on July 23 (Wed) from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. via Zoom to pray for seniors. Congregants are welcome to attend and make Bethel a prayer driven church. Please contact church office for Zoom link information.
The small-town mission experience is divided into two teams: Pastor Tommy and his wife Tina will first arrive in Kamloops on July 27, leading the worship and preaching in the local Christian gathering point on Sunday afternoon and also preparing for the gospel love feast on the 28th. The second team of 6 people includes Brother Yong Choon Wah and his wife, Brother Choi Siu Ming and his wife, Brother Ken Hu, and Sister Lisa Poon. They will take the CCM Small Town Gospel Car and leave on the morning of the 28th and return on the 29th. This mission experience includes holding a gospel love feast event from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the 28th, as well as visiting the local Chinese community, restaurants, hotels and families, etc.
Bethel will co-organize a 2-day first aid course with the CCM. The venue will be the church basement on Saturday, August 2 (9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) and Sunday, August 3 (2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.). Thank you for the enthusiastic participation of all departments and fellowships. The quota is now full. We urge all departments and ministry teams not to arrange any basement activities on these two days.
Multiply missionaries A&R will come to EM to preach on August 3 and share their missionary experiences and prayer needs at the joint prayer meeting at 12:15 p.m. All are welcome to reserve time to attend and pray for the missionaries together.
The "After Sunday Worship Refreshments" will resume today. There will be a couple of special refreshments offered today. Congregations are welcome to stay behind the Sunday Worship and go to the basement to enjoy the refreshments and fellowship.
Finance Department News: With the completion of the kitchen renovation project, the designated special offering for the kitchen (MK) will also come to a close, as originally planned. Brothers and sisters are warmly encouraged to continue supporting the Church Building Improvement Fund through their offering, helping us to build a space that nurtures faith and fellowship.
Deacons Board received Administrative Assistant (AA) Julie Su's resignation last Thursday (July 10) and has accepted her resignation. Julie's resignation is effective on August 1, immediately after her sick leave. We thank Julie for her service at Bethel in the past 5 years. Deacons Board will now review the AA position, and will later begin the hiring process.
Deacon Nomination/Election arrangement as follows: The Board of Deacons resolved that the number of deacons in 2026 shall be seven. This year, there are a total of five deacons. Gary Choi will have served his first term by the end of this year (eligible to be nominated); therefore, there will be three openings next year. The Deacon Nomination Committee has already met and nominated 23 brothers and sisters in accordance with Bethel’s Bylaws section 11, Acts 6:3, and 1 Timothy 3:1-13. The list of nominees is posted on the bulletin board. All the nominees are required to submit their reply by August 10, 2025. Two active members together may nominate other active members by first submitting the names to the Deacon Nomination Committee, then a written consent must be signed by the nominee, and such nomination must then be submitted to the Deacon Nomination Committee no later than 12:00 noon on July 27, 2025. Deacon Election will be held in-person on Sunday, September 21, 2025 by referendum.
July 23 (Wednesday) is a retreat day for pastors and the office will be closed.
Pastor Tommy will be attending a small town mission from July 27 to 29 and will not be in the office.
Administrative Assistant Julie has extended her sick leave to July 31.
