Family News:

  1. 2026 Theme: "Abide in Christ, Growing in Love."
    Theme verse: "Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work." (Ephesians 4:15-16, NIV)
  2. Deacon Election was successfully held on last Sunday, October 18. 159 active members were eligible to vote, and a total of 114 ballots were returned which exceeded the required quorum of 96 returned ballots. Candidate must receive at least 60% of the total returned ballots, that is 69 votes, to be effectively elected. “Yes” votes received as follows:
            Ken Hu: 99
            Ivan Liu: 104
            Philip Sheir: 100
    All candidates received more than 60% of the votes and were elected as deacons to serve a 2-year term (2027-2028).
  3. Two CM Sunday school classes will be held from 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. after the CM Service, please be on time.
  4. EM will begin a new series on Christian Education on Wednesday nights from Oct 28 to Dec 16 @ 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Theme is "Solitude with God". Prayer is one of the most difficult spiritual practices amongst Christians. Yet, prayer is the most essential in the Christian walk. Let's learn how to pray together. Please sign up with Pastor Peter Chong by Oct 27.
  5. The 38th Annual Bethel Missions Conference will host three special events with special guest speakers all of whom Bethel is currently supporting:

  6. The church will be showing a Chinese AI Evangelical Documentary on Dr. John Sung on Nov 13 (Fri) from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Congregants are welcome to attend with friends.
  7. Cantonese Gospel Opera will be suspended in November until further notice.
  8. Recently, paper towels were found in the washroom toilet causing a blockage. The kitchen sink is also temporarily out of use due to a blocked drain. Please do not flush paper towels down the toilet or pour food scraps into the kitchen sink. Let’s work together to keep our church clean and drainpipes clear and free-flowing. Thank you for your cooperation!
  9. The 2027 church calendar has been printed. Please have one copy for each family.
  10. The church is currently undertaking the second phase of the roof replacement project, which costs $39,900. Due to insufficient funds in the Building Improvement Fund, the church encourages brothers and sisters to continue to support the fund and make special donations for the roof replacement, which can be made using the Building Improvement Offering Envelope or E‑Transfer, and indicate “RR” on the offering envelope or in the E‑Transfer memo field.

  4. EM英語事工將於10月28日至12月16日逢週三晚上7時半至8時半推出全新系列的基督教教育課程，主題：「與神獨處」。在基督徒的生命中，禱告是最難操練的屬靈功課之一。然而，禱告在基督徒的信仰奔路中，卻是最不可或缺的。歡迎大家一同學習如何同心禱告。請於10月27日與張俊德傳道報名參加。
