Family News:

  1. 2026 Theme: "Abide in Christ, Growing in Love."
    Theme verse: "Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work." (Ephesians 4:15-16, NIV)
  2. This year's church picnic will be held today at Vancouver Riverfront Park Picnic Site. Please arrive before 1:00 p.m.
  3. CM Prayer Meeting will be held on Aug 26 (Wed) from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. via zoom to pray for the beginning of the new school term. All are welcome to attend and make Bethel a prayer driven church.
  4. EM Summer Retreat will be held from Aug 29 to 31 (Sat to Mon). The English worship service on Aug 30 will take place @ 10:30 a.m. at the camp site and will also be broadcast live online through Zoom. The Zoom link will be posted Saturday night (Aug 29) on our church website. A copy of the packing list has already been distributed to the retreat participants.
  5. This year's Ministry Personnel Retreat will be held on Sep 5 (Sat) from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the basement chapel. All past & present deacons, department heads, department members, and helpers are welcome to attend. Please register in the office for lunch preparation.
  6. Thanks to God’s grace and guidance. Pastor Joy Zhou has accepted and received her work permit to serve as the part-time pastor for the Mandarin Ministry of our church, she will begin her service on September 1, 2026. We welcome Pastor Joy to our Bethel family!
    Pastor Joy was raised in a devoted Christian family. She earned her Doctor of Ministry degree from Canadian Chinese School of Theology Vancouver in 2026. Before coming to Canada, Pastor Joy served in full-time ministry in China for many years, providing pastoral care and leadership for children, youth, and young adults. Through these ministries, she gained extensive experience in shepherding, discipleship, and church ministry. In her free time, Pastor Joy enjoys spending time in nature and gardening, finding joy and refreshment in God's creation.
  7. Kids StoryQuest Media Club will be held on every Friday from Sep 11 to Dec 11 at 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Kids age 8-12 are welcome to join us on a journey of storytelling, creativity, and media making. Registration fee is $50 per child. For program details and registration, please visit our church website or the promotional flyers.
  8. Chinese School is recruiting 3 teachers for the school term 2026-2027. Interested parties can email their application and resume to chinese.school@bethelmb.org. Details are also available on our church website (www.bethelmb.org).
  9. Chinese School is now accepting registration for new students for the first term of the 2026-2027 school year. Children aged 4 and above are welcome to apply. For information, flyers are available at the church office or please contact Chinese School at chinese.school@bethelmb.org

  3. 粵語祈禱會將於8月26日(三)晚上8時至9時在線上舉行，為開學預備禱告，歡迎會眾踴躍出席，讓頌主堂成為禱告的教會。請聯絡教會辦公室索取線上連結方法。

  6. 感謝神的恩典與帶領，Joy Zhou 周琦傳道已接受聘任並取得工作簽證，成為本堂的國語事工部分時間傳道，她將於2026年9月1日上任，負責牧養本堂國語會眾。歡迎周傳道成為我們頌主堂的一份子！
    周琦傳道成長於一個虔誠的基督徒家庭。她於2026年在加拿大華人神學院溫哥華取得教牧學博士學位。來到加拿大之前，周傳道曾於中國全時間事奉，先後牧養及帶領兒童、青年及中青年群體，有多年教會牧養與門徒培育的經驗。閒暇時，周傳道喜愛親近大自然、園藝，享受在神的創造中安靜默想、欣賞祂的作為。
  7. 兒童StoryQuest媒體俱樂部將於9月11日至12月11日逢星期五晚上7時半至9時舉行，歡迎8–12歲小朋友參加，一同踏上創意媒體製作的學習旅程。報名費用為$50元正，詳情及報名，請瀏覽教會網站或宣傳單張。
