Family News:

  1. 2025 Theme: "Abide in Christ, Renewal in life."
    Theme verse: "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." (John 15:5, NIV)
  2. 2026-2027 Deacon Election will be held today by in-person referendum. There will be three openings on the Deacons Board next year. Active members (age 16+) can vote today after the Mandarin or Cantonese/English services. The election will close at 1:00 PM. Deacon candidates must receive at least 60% of the votes to be elected. A quorum of 60% of active members is required for the election. If quorum is not reached today, another election will be held on September 28, 2025 (next Sunday). Please pray for the Deacon Election.
  3. Bethel's recruitment for the permanent part-time Administrative Assistant position will close on September 21 (today). Interested applicants are required to submit their applications via email to info@bethelmb.org before the deadline. Late applications will not be accepted.
  4. CM Prayer Meeting will be held on September 24 (Wed) from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. via Zoom to pray for our community area. Congregants are welcome to attend and make Bethel a prayer driven church. Please contact church office for Zoom link information.
  5. A new CM Sunday school session will begin at 12:15 p.m. on Sep 28. Mrs. Woo will teach Genesis (Part 2). All members are welcome to register at the office.
  6. We warmly invite all grandparents to stay behind after the Cantonese Worship Service on Sunday, September 28 for a special Grandparents’ Meeting from 12:00 p.m. - 12:45 p.m. in the Multifunctional Room. Come enjoy a time of fellowship over simple refreshments, along with a special grandparent testimony and a short presentation. After the meeting, we’ll head out for lunch together - so please plan to stay and connect with one another!
  7. Bethel plans to begin offering official donation receipts for income tax purposes via email starting next year. If you wish to receive your tax receipt by email, please complete the “Consent Form for Receiving Official Donation Receipts via Email”, clearly indicating your authorization for email delivery. The signed form should be submitted by placing it in one of the designated collection boxes located on either side of the sanctuary stage, no later than October 19, 2025. If you need to make any changes to your consent in the future, you may request a “Request for Change” form from the Church Treasurer or Office. Once the form is completed and signed, please return it to the Church Treasurer for processing.
  8. In order to serve you better, EM Core Committee members will intentionally reach out to care for you. Please do not be alarmed and you are not in trouble. We are looking forward to connect with you.
  9. EM Christian Education will begin Bible Study on the Gospel of Mark on Zoom every Wednesday night @ 7 p.m. for 10 sessions starting in October. It is ideal for new believers, seekers, and those who would like to renew their faith. If you know of a friend, family member, or coworker, who is interested in knowing Jesus Christ, please encourage them to sign up with Pastor Peter.
  10. EM will begin guitar lessons for beginners and intermediate level for 8 lessons starting October 18, 2025. For inquiry and sign up, please contact brother Alvin Chong or Pastor Peter.
  11. The 63rd Canada Chinese Christian Winter Conference will be held on Dec 27-31. Registration is now open, if you are interested, you can contact Angela Chan.
