老齡化，少子化是全球的問題，也是各國政府努力解決的問題。本區之前也有一個人口統計報告，當中亦顯示本區的人口老齡化相當嚴重，尤其是華人的人口更甚。面對這樣的大環境，教會也不能置身事外，且受到很大的衝擊。因為教會本身並沒有吸引力，可以吸引年青一代前來。當牧者正在苦惱如何吸引年青人和年輕家庭來頌主堂之際。神竟然讓西北溫頌恩堂主動來找我們，商談合作舉辦「新世代啟發課程」。原來他們於2019年已開始做香港人的外展工作，透過網上的座談會（住房、報稅、子女升學、就業…）已接觸1400多位已移居或計劃移居加拿大的香港人。2025年他們曾經在教會舉辦過實體 BBQ 的活動，得來的反應是絕大部分香港人不是住在西北溫。更意想不到的是，當中有不少人是住在頌主堂和鐵路鎮附近的。感謝神賜下神國的心予西北溫頌恩堂的牧師和執事，主動的找上我們商議合作的可能。同工會對此感到萬分興奮和雀躍不已，經過執事會非常審慎的雙方會面溝通，感恩可於4月13日成事。更感恩的是，執事會主動提出教會總動員的去參與，而不單單是CM和外展部的事工。因為是合作的關係，故教會要配合西北溫頌恩堂的安排。而由於他們已有多次舉辦「啟發」的經驗，他們一開始期望有15人報名，他們派出15人，我們派出10人，合共40人，一邊用膳，一邊交談。感謝神！現在我們有12人報名，他們會減派人手前來，因為他們怕人手太多會令參加者不安。為此我感謝神有這麼美好的合作。

當神工作的時候，魔鬼也會努力地工作，試圖破壞大家的合作，破壞團隊的士氣，製造紛爭和攪擾，令參加者卻步和不安。因此我們要盡心竭力的為「啟發」禱告，不要讓魔鬼有機可乘。例如：為什麼我想參與「啟發」事奉，教會卻設下處處限制？（教會沒有設限，教會鼓勵會眾成為代禱勇士，參與事工。）為什麼「啟發」只開放給18歲至35歲的新世代？（因為這是西北溫頌恩堂提出與我們合作的大前題。）我們要杜絕魔鬼撒下的惡酵，不要讓它滋生漫延。教會需要年青一代，教會需要有一些事工和活動是專針對和吸引年青人。在2026整年裡，我們就只有一個特為年青一代而設的外展事工，其餘的，都仍是公開沒有年齡規限的事工（如乒乓球、讚美操、福音粵曲、中秋晚會、福音話劇）。在4月13日至7月13日，牧師好希望我們都成為代禱勇士，於每星期一晚上6時至6時30分，同心合意在各處，一起禱告，一起見證神透過「啟發」給我們的祝福。阿們。

Aging and declining birth rates are global issues that governments everywhere are working hard to solve. A previous demographic report for our district also showed that population aging is quite severe here, especially within the Chinese community. In the face of this environment, the church cannot remain a bystander and is facing a significant impact. The church itself lacks the appeal to attract the younger generation. While pastors were struggling with how to attract young people and young families to Bethel, God unexpectedly led North Shore MB Pacific Grace Church to take the initiative to reach out to us to discuss a partnership for the "New Generation Alpha Course." It turns out they began outreach work for Hong Kongers back in 2019. Through online seminars (covering housing, taxes, children's education, employment, etc.), they have connected with over 1,400 Hong Kongers who have moved or plan to move to Canada. In 2025, they held a physical BBQ event at their church and discovered that the vast majority of these Hong Kongers do not live on the North Shore. Even more unexpectedly, many of them live near Bethel and Metrotown. Thank God for granting a kingdom-minded heart to the pastors and deacons of North Shore MB Pacific Grace Church to proactively seek us out. Our staff team is incredibly excited. Following a very careful meeting between our Board of Deacons and theirs, we are thankful that this will come to fruition on April 13. We are even more grateful that the Board of Deacons took the initiative to propose a total church mobilization to participate, rather than it being just a project for the CM and Outreach Department. Because this is a partnership, the church will coordinate with North Shore MB Pacific Grace Church’s arrangements. Since they have experience hosting "Alpha" many times, they initially expected 15 registrations. They will send 15 people and we will send 10, totaling 40 people to share a meal and conversation. Thank God! We currently have 12 people registered, so they will reduce their staff presence to avoid overwhelming the participants. I thank God for such a wonderful collaboration.

When God works, the devil also works hard to try and destroy cooperation, undermine team morale, and create strife and distraction to make participants feel hesitant or uneasy. Therefore, we must strive with all our heart to pray for "Alpha" and not give the devil any opportunity. For example: "Why are there restrictions when I want to serve in Alpha?" (The church has no restrictions; we encourage the congregation to become prayer warriors and participate). "Why is Alpha only open to the 'New Generation' aged 18 to 35?" (Because this was the primary premise of the partnership proposed by North Shore MB Pacific Grace Church). We must eliminate the evil leaven sown by the devil and not let it spread. The church needs the younger generation; it needs ministries and activities specifically targeted at and attractive to young people. In the entirety of 2026, we have only this one outreach ministry specifically for the younger generation; the rest remain open ministries with no age limits (such as table tennis, praise dance, Gospel Cantonese Opera, Mid-Autumn Festival, and Gospel Drama). From April 13 to July 13, I dearly hope we can all become prayer warriors. Every Monday evening from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM, let us pray together in unity from wherever we are, witnessing the blessings God gives us through "Alpha." Amen.
