Dear brothers & sisters, do you know what’s the first system God instituted after He created the world?

Yes, it’s family system! “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. … That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.” (Genesis 1:27-28a; 2:24)

The first human system God creates is family! No matter your age or your life stage, everyone comes from a family and belongs to a family whether you like it or not. Family is the foundation of the entire human systems.

Our church family is built up of families as well. Besides we belong to one big spiritual family, each of us comes from different families or the same multi-generations family. Family is the base where faith is cultivated and passed on.

God commands us, “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home ….” (Deuteronomy 6:4-9)

Clearly, loving & worshipping God is not only a Sunday church event but is a daily discipleship journey at home. Parents have to be Jesus’ followers, His disciples, before they can lead their children to Jesus. They can’t walk a path which they never walk on themselves. Especially family system faces daily challenges and even collapsing in today’s world. Families need the support & resources from church.

Bethel promotes a family lifestyle of godliness, a Christ-likeness of walking with Jesus and a strong & loving relationship in the family among husband & wife and their children. When the family faces life challenges, the parents will be able to lead their families to make God-honoring decision as Joshua did, “But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15) Strong families make strong church. By building strong families, we can then build a strong church.

The vision of family and children ministry is to help families be Jesus’ disciples and be able to go and make disciples. We will accomplish our vision through 3P : Promote Christ-centered marriage to strengthen family. Provide caring for families. Partner with parents to empower them as the primary faith ministers of their children as well as equip them to have the responsibility of disciplining their children at home.

親愛的兄弟姊妹，你知道神創造世界後所製定的第一個系統是什麼嗎？

是的，這就是家庭系統！“ 神就照著自己的形像造人，乃是照著他的形像造男造女。神就賜福給他們，又對他們說：要生養眾多，遍滿地面，治理這地，也要管理海裡的魚、空中的鳥，和地上各樣行動的活物。” 因此，人要離開父母，與妻子連合，二人成為一體。(創世記1:27-28a; 2:24)

神創造的第一個人類系統就是家庭！無論你的年齡，無論你處於人生的哪個階段，無論你喜歡與否，每個人都來自一個家庭，都屬於一個家庭。家庭是整個人類系統的基礎。

我們的教會大家庭也是由家庭組成的。除了我們屬於同一個屬靈的大家庭之外，我們每個人都來自不同的家庭或同一個的多代家庭。家庭是信仰培育和傳承的基地。

神命令我們：“ 以色列阿，你要聽！耶和華 ─ 我們神是獨一的主。你要盡心、盡性、盡力愛耶和華 ─ 你的神。我今日所吩咐你的話都要記在心上，也要殷勤教訓你的兒女。無論你坐在家裡，行在路上，躺下，起來，都要談論。” (申命記6:4-9)

顯然，愛和敬拜神不僅是主日的教會活動，而是每天在家中的門徒訓練之旅。父母必須先成為耶穌的跟隨者 ─ 祂的門徒，才能帶領孩子歸向耶穌。因為他們無法領孩子走自己從未走過的路。尤其是家庭系統在當今世界面臨日常挑戰甚至面臨崩潰。家庭需要教會的支持和資源。

頌主堂提倡敬虔的家庭生活方式，與耶穌同行的基督樣式，以及夫妻及其孩子之間牢固而充滿愛心的家庭關係。當家庭面臨生活挑戰時，父母將能夠像約書亞一樣帶領家人做出榮耀神的決定，“至於我和我家，我們必定事奉耶和華。” (約書亞記24:15) 穩固的家庭帶來穩固的教會。透過建立穩固的家庭，我們就能建立穩固的教會。

家庭和兒童事工的異象是幫助家庭成為耶穌的門徒，並且能夠去使人成為門徒。我們將透過3P來實現我們的願景：促進(Promote)以基督為中心的婚姻以鞏固家庭。(Provide)為家庭提供關懷。(Partner)與父母合作，賦予他們權力，讓他們成為孩子的主要信仰導師，並讓他們承擔起在家管教孩子的責任。
