Family News:

  1. 2025 Theme: "Abide in Christ, Renewal in life."
    Theme verse: "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." (John 15:5, NIV)
  2. CM Prayer Meeting will be held on July 30 (Wed) from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. via Zoom to pray for travelling of congregants. Congregants are welcome to attend and make Bethel a prayer driven church. Please contact church office for Zoom link information.
  3. The small-town mission experience to Kamloops is divided into two teams: Pastor Tommy and his wife Tina will first arrive in Kamloops on July 27, leading the worship and preaching in the local Christian gathering point on Sunday afternoon and also preparing for the gospel love feast on the 28th. The second team of 6 people includes Brother Yong Choon Wah and his wife, Brother Choi Siu Ming and his wife, Brother Ken Hu, and Sister Lisa Poon. They will take the CCM Small Town Gospel Car and leave on the morning of the 28th and return on the 29th. This mission experience includes holding a gospel love feast event from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the 28th, as well as visiting the local Chinese community, restaurants, hotels and families, etc.
  4. Bethel will co-organize a 2-day first aid course with the CCM. The venue will be the church basement on Saturday, August 2 (9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) and Sunday, August 3 (2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.). Thank you for the enthusiastic participation of all departments and fellowships. The quota is now full. We urge all departments and ministry teams not to arrange any basement activities on these two days.
  5. Multiply missionaries A&R will come to EM to preach on August 3 and share their missionary experiences and prayer needs at the joint prayer meeting at 12:15 p.m. All are welcome to reserve time to attend and pray for the missionaries together.
  6. There are still a few vacancies available for the Summer Kids' Day Camp from August 11 to 22. For inquiries and registration, please contact Pr. Grace.
  7. This year’s Church Picnic will be held on Aug. 24 (Sunday) in the afternoon at Burnaby Fraser Foreshore Park (7751 Fraser Park Dr., Burnaby). Fees are: Adult - $15; Children (4-12) - $7; Under 4 – Free. Registration will start on Aug 3 (Next Sunday).
  8. We are thrilled to share that our Yard Sale held last Sunday was a great success! Through God’s faithful provision and your generous donations, purchases, and helping hands, we were able to raise $808.10 for our EM Summer Retreat. Thank you for your support.
  9. Chinese School is now recruiting new students. All those aged 4 and above are welcome to register. For enquiries and registration, please contact Ps. Grace.
  10. Obituary: Pr. Peter's mother fainted at home on the morning of July 24 (Thursday) and passed away in the arms of the Lord. May the Lord comfort Ps. Peter and his family.
  11. Pastor Tommy will be attending a small town mission from July 27 to 29 and will not be in the office.
  12. Administrative Assistant Julie has extended her sick leave to July 31.
  13. Deacons Board received Administrative Assistant (AA) Julie Su's resignation last Thursday (July 10) and has accepted her resignation. Julie's resignation is effective on August 1, immediately after her sick leave. We thank Julie for her service at Bethel in the past 5 years. Deacons Board will now review the AA position, and will later begin the hiring process.
