Dear God, my Father in heaven:
I confess I need you, and accept your invitation to friendship, through what Jesus came and did for me. Forgive me for the grief I have caused you and for the grief I have caused others. I want to be reconciled to you, and experience what it means to belong to you and to carry your image. As you help me trust you with the circumstances in my life, I want to get to know Jesus so I can imitate him in the way I live. I give you permission to go to work on me to bring about changes that would save me from my self-centered nature. Thank you for your friendship and the hope for a meaningful life. Amen.
